As some of you may know, i rolled my suburban. This left a Chevrolet V8 sized hole in my heart, and like a catholic school girl, i needed to get something stuffed in it asap. Fast forward to 2003, and we have my new daily. A 2003 Trailblazer LT with the legendary Vortec 4200, pumping out axis altering 275hp and 275 lbft, but we'll see what we can do about that.

Stage I: Tune-up
Just your average, plugs and o2 sensor. Firstly, the plugs are gross. Not only are they incorrect for this car, but they were gapped incorrectly. This could explain my less than optimal fuel economy. The new ones are nice and shiny, correct part numbers, and are chocked full of iridium goodness. Yummy. Next up, the o2 sensor. The one the TB came with is an NTK, so it can't be very old, but it certainly looked like it needed replacing. The service mechanic who replaced it for these nice people broke off the retaining clip, tisk tisk mister. After i mended that, it was good to go, right as rain. Gross. Yummy. After all was said and done, i had to hold back the tears as i mounted the stock intake system again. There must be a better way i tell you, there must be! I guess that's an upgrade for another day.

You are 1hp away from a stock JDM MKIV supra in terms of power.
Let that sink in for the Toyota fans.
Has it sunk in yet?
Good.
This engine is 50kg lighter than a 2JZ as well.
I bid you Toyota fans good day.
I SAID GOOD DAY SIR.

Stage II: IntakeWelp, i said the intake was a job for another day. It's another day. The plotted dyno graph i got for this intake is +9.8 whp in 2nd gear. Obviously this is depenant on altitude and atmospheric conditions, as well as many other variables, but it does seem as though there is more pep in the 2k-3k region. Excuse the wind noise, garbage camera, and garbage mic. The induction noise is a bit louder than M3 levels, i'm happy with it. For now.
