Now with more hyped up words in the title!
Surprised we didn't have one of these, so I thought I'd make one myself (Especially with GTA V around the corner).
GTA V trailer:
Probably one of the most anticipated games ever, with one of the most watched trailers of all time. GTA V definitely came in with a bang amongst the gaming community.
Since the release of the trailer, some seven months ago, much speculation has come about. People asked how big the map sizing was, what vehicles would be available, mini-games, etc.
Not long after the first trailer, the second trailer was released.
This can be found below:
Again, this became a highly watched trailer within no time at all, and featured two things previously not seen in the last Grand Theft Auto games. 1) A dog, and 2) A few different aircrafts.
This resulted in a lot more speculation, with some wondering whether pets would be allowed.
This speculation soon paved the way for IGN to create an analysis of the trailer:
One thing that has never been confirmed though was the inclusion of a PC version. It's not unlikely the Rockstar would release a PC version, albeit it late, but with the closure of the studios behind Red Dead Redemption (which resulted in them being unable to finish a PC version) - many PC games have gotten a little worried.
This then resulted with a petition being made, which gathered nearly 190,000 signatures (Found here: www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/rockstar-release-gta-v-on-pc).
Rockstar have still yet to answer any speculation on the PC version, and instead had this to say:
This has had many PC gamers in uproar, but there is still hope.
Then came the release of the 3 person trailer, found below:
This confirmed much speculation that there would be 3 main protagonists, and confirmed that there wasn't only one playable character.
How do you feel about this? I'm unsure about it. Rockstar have mentioned that you can use one character to aid another in missions, which is good. I'm unsure about how I would feel if you needed to play as a single protagonist to progress through certain missions or sections of story. One thing that I've enjoyed about games lately is that characters have become more believable, acting has become serious, and this results in you feeling attached to your own character in a certain way.
With the ability to switch characters at will, I'm unsure how effective this would be.
Then, as of today, came one of the lesser story telling trailers as of yet.
With the release of the gameplay footage, many things were confirmed.
- You can purchase property.
- There are plenty of available mini-games/side missions.
- Cars can be customised.
- There ARE planes that you can fly.
- A completely new feature to Grand Theft Auto, game/animal hunting.
- Interaction with strangers.
- Bounties.
- Tattoo's.
All this has once more made Grand Theft Auto a highly anticipated game amongst all demographics of people. I'm unaware of many gamers who aren't willing to purchase GTA V, although PC gamers have been a bit angry at Rockstars lack of confirmation.
Thing's I've personally speculated/wondered about:
- The first trailer looks significantly worse than the gameplay trailer that is released today.
This begs to ask - are the two trailers run on the same hardware? Is it possible that the gameplay trailer is run on a PC to give it crisp graphics? Or is it possibly just a case of the current version being miles ahead in refinement compared to it's previous counterpart?
- Rockstar has had job advertisements, pointing towards a PC version.
Even just recently Rockstar had posted a job advertisement looking for "Someone able to bring the latest Rockstar titles to PC". Not long after, the job advertisement was removed.
Information found here: www.pcgamer.com/2013/07/10/grand-theft-auto-v-is-taking-the-best-parts-of-rockstars-previous-games/
To make matters more interesting, an ex-Rockstar employee posted "Worked at Rockstar, coding/designing cutscenes for GTA V on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC". Not long after this was discovered and publicized was it then removed by the ex-employee. Could these signs point towards a PC release of this game? Quite possibly.
------
So with all this in mind, what are you excited for with GTA V?
What else would you like to see?
I'm not sure about you guys, but after seeing the gameplay trailer I could imagine this being more enjoyable than GTA:SA was.

@rockstar
There’s nothing to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC release at this time.
