Cal's Corolla (AE92)

Alright ball bags decided to do this thread properly this time around, including stories and shit, and for you uneducated folk (sheep) there will be plenty of pictures to look at.


Started with my mate ringing me one day saying "I've got a Toyota Engine here that's for sale, not sure what it is, can you come have a look?".

I went down and bought it on the spot, for it T'was a 4AGE 20V Silvertop, quite common now in Aus but an engine I had always wanted.

The original plan was to strip it down and rebuild it with new bearings etc.











Started to prepare the 4AGE for placement into the Holden Nova originally intended.









Then I purchased a little old AE92 hatch off some teenage chick for $600 as the "left foot pedal doesn't help make the car move anymore" (no clutch lol)



After this shit just got out of hand, decided I'd put it in this as the manual gear was already in it and the Nova would continue to be my daily.

While away with the navy my mate text me and asked how I'd feel about making a quick little sleeper and I agreed.

That night I jumped on the net to start part hording

AE92 SX Cluster (came with some extra nice useful gauges):



My mate then text me and told me the piece of shit Ebay manifold fitted but covered the oil filter housing (seriously, what the fuck).
So I gave the go ahead for a custom turbo manifold and custom 3" mandrel bent exhaust to be made. The welds and the blokes work is amazing, very happy with the results













Next up was the custom plenum as the 4age 20V's had individual throttle bodies and wouldnt hold with pressure










Next came the modding of the SX dash cluster (needed to hide the boost gauge)












Next I got some nice bucket seats on sale





Plus some exterior mods
