So, yes, my bitch here
Her name is Angie
Angie's a 97 Audi B5 A4 Avant, a Manual 1.8 20V FWD dressed in Lazer Red.
She arrived on my driveway, April 11 2012. I had purchased her blind (overseas, kinda not a bright idea at the time)
She set me back around 300,000ยข (4k in the ad, got it down due to the problems she had). But yes, it was cheap so I let the problems slide
After about a week, she was in the workshop busy spending all my money.
Timing belt, tappet gasket, all 4 brake rotors machined and other things need to be done in a Major service. (Window washer pump took about a week and a half to arrive:o, which was the reason for the 28 days)
The day she was done.
Afterwards, all was fine apart from the usual dietary requirement of the radiator stop leak (Not the cheap stuff)
The ABS problem was ignored as she can still stop herself.
Another problem that existed when I bought her was the Tacho throwing a fit everytime you turned the key, I went around for a few weeks basing clutch work off the sound, and sometimes the Aircon display being a tacho. This was fixed by buying a new cluster, but it was a different unit so I don't have a buzzer anymore.
Oh, and a Volvo attempted to run me off the road.
The Maori is now in trouble, Assault on a Minor and a Hit and run
Soo yeah, XC90 rear right wheel vs Audi
Kicked my door in too...
So yeah, didn't do much after that.
But then decided to remove my tint as the rear right passenger door was like attempting to see through those wonky mirrors.
Removed all the tint on the doors, but left the cargo area for some privacy.
Decided to get the wagon new shoes as they were cheap ($200 for a set)
MIJ's shop of them on the vehicle.
Tierods done too (Found out nearly everything mechanical is original from Aug 96)
Old Tierod
New Tierod
Due to how long these things were in there (I think the old tierods are now about 16 years old) the right one took an hour and a half to get out, compared to the left which took 20 minutes to replace entirely, damn right was stuck.
Also finally had a chance to look underneath the wagon.
Cheap lowering springs for $156 bought by previous owner has managed to strip the underside of the stone guard.
But yeah, how she was when I got my P's
(Shitty photo, didn't really take my time with it.)
So yeah, Washed her then MIJ decided to try something different so we attacked the bonnet with buckets of water.
Also, some interior shots.
My favourite bit of the interior, red instrument lighting.
and of course, the saggy headliner supported by the previous owners staples.
K's may have been alittle high, about 256,### when I got her.
Also, went out for alittle cruise many nights ago,
MIJ's pic
Thar's the engine bay.
Still don't know what the plug ontop of the airbox is for, but it's near a (I'm assuming) vacuum line that's also open
It's sagging quite a fair bit on that side now, plus the indicator was pushed right up.
MIJ's Pic.
Took some pics a lot of nights ago, lighting was shit so I didn't like em, here's one from it.
Not afraid to show that side anymore after I put the effort into polishing the tyremarks away
Also, my excuse for not bringing the little red wagon up to the meets ages ago.
Right tyre, the worst
Left is on it's way too.
So yeah, no grip at all when taking off on a damp road, but no understeer yet which is a good thing but I'm not going to trust this going towards Brissy (Especially with all this wet weather), but it is a sign telling me that the new shoes are to go on soon.
So yeah, went out to do a photo shoot 'cause I was bored, shows the old rims...
Yup, read on and that's why I mentioned it.
I think some of you may know the other vehicle...
But yeah, something that needed to be done, done.
Fitted rubber with the size of 225/45/r17 on which is an inch bigger than my rims...
But that's no biggie, I feteched another set a while back which I mentioned already so ignore the 'shop that's in post one.
Yoko A-Drive R1's are nice:o
Last 5 min of the old rims:)
And off the ground they go.
mmm...
New ones ploped onto the ground.
tyres are 2cm wider than the old.
Just your typical Audi stance.
And how she is now:o (Steering was off so I ran over someone to fix it.)(not really)
Anyway, I love the new rims, car looks alot different (could use better wording...) but no longer the little hoony like looks,
but moar crassy:o
So yeah, nothing big, just took the little red wagon to the track (Willowbank) for some happy laps, managed to top out at about 150km/h so I had some fun, kinda used about $20 of fuel that day though...
Brake dust, 1 day after washing the car:o
Anyway, here's 23mn of the 30 we got to do, sorry about it's shitness as this was the first time I recorded anything in my car and I didn't realise that the seat was soo bouncy, or that the camera strap lug was vibrating on the camera, or the actual settings as I couldn't see the screen (Gorilla pod on passenger seat secured by headrest)
Fixing this shit, just getting stuff from MightyCockMongers

Ohhhh, lucky the bumper wasn't ripped right off then haha.
